TRANSITION SERVICES

Our Transition Services programs provide engaging learning experiences that help students strengthen career-readiness, self-advocacy, workplace, independent living, and transition-related skills. Assignments may take place in schools, colleges, community settings, camps, workshops, learning labs, and special events.

Career Readiness Facilitator

Career Readiness Facilitators lead structured, interactive learning experiences designed to help students develop practical skills for employment, education, training, and greater independence. Facilitators may be assigned to workshops, camps, Work-Based Learning Experience (WBLE) Learning Labs, Student Success Summits, and other career and transition programs.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging individual, small-group, and group-based activities using curriculum and materials provided by 4 The Future Consulting Group.

  • Lead discussions, hands-on activities, simulations, role-play, projects, and other interactive learning experiences.

  • Support students in developing career-readiness, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, self-advocacy, workplace, and independent living skills.

  • Adapt facilitation techniques, as appropriate, to support students with varying learning needs and abilities.

  • Encourage active participation, appropriate social interaction, confidence, and independence.

  • Maintain a positive, structured, respectful, and supportive learning environment.

  • Monitor student participation and engagement.

  • Complete required attendance, activity records, progress documentation, and other program records accurately and within required timelines.

  • Communicate professionally with organizational staff, schools, families, community partners, and other program stakeholders as appropriate.

  • Maintain student confidentiality and follow organizational, program, and site requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in education, special education, rehabilitation, counseling, psychology, social work, human services, workforce development, or a related field.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of two years of experience working with students or individuals with disabilities required.

  • Current or previous teacher certification is highly preferred. 

  • Experience in transition services, career and technical education, workforce development, college and career readiness, youth development, or related programming preferred.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, facilitation, classroom/group-management, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to facilitate structured curriculum and interactive learning experiences with students with varying abilities and support needs.

  • Ability to follow established curriculum, lesson plans, program guidelines, and documentation requirements.

Career Readiness Facilitator Assistant

VIRTUAL ACADEMY & PRE-ETS INSTRUCTION

Our instructor-led Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) programs provide structured instruction designed to help students prepare for employment, postsecondary education and training, and greater independence. Instruction may be delivered through the Virtual Academy or through tailored on-campus programming.

Pre-ETS Instructor

Pre-ETS Instructors deliver structured Pre-Employment Transition Services instruction using curriculum, instructional materials, and program expectations provided by 4 The Future Consulting Group.

 

Instruction may address Self-Advocacy, Workplace Readiness Training, Job Exploration Counseling, Counseling on Postsecondary Education and Training Opportunities, and Work-Based Learning Experiences, as applicable to the assigned program.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned Pre-ETS curriculum and instructional activities according to established program guidelines.

  • Facilitate engaging individual, small-group, classroom-based, or live virtual instruction.

  • Lead discussions, projects, role-play, demonstrations, and other interactive instructional activities.

  • Adapt instructional delivery, as appropriate, to support varying learning needs and abilities.

  • Reinforce communication, self-advocacy, problem-solving, decision-making, workplace readiness, career exploration, and independence.

  • Monitor student participation, progress, and skill development.

Pre-ETS Instructor Assistants support the Instructor and students during structured Pre-ETS programming. Assistants help create an organized learning environment while providing additional support to students who may need assistance participating in lessons and activities.

Job Skills Trainer

Job Skills Trainers provide individualized skills training and support based on the participant's employment needs, goals, authorized services, and applicable program requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized job-skills instruction and training in accordance with assigned services.

  • Teach and reinforce skills necessary for successful employment and workplace participation.

  • Assist participants in understanding job responsibilities, workplace expectations, routines, communication, and appropriate workplace behaviors.

  • Model, demonstrate, and reinforce job-specific skills as appropriate.

  • Identify areas in which additional instruction, practice, or support may be needed.

  • Monitor participant progress toward established employment and training goals.

  • Communicate appropriately with participants, employers, counselors, organizational staff, and other authorized stakeholders.

  • Complete required service documentation, progress reports, time records, and other records accurately and within required timelines.

  • Maintain participant confidentiality and comply with applicable organizational and contractual requirements.

Work Experience Trainers provide structured training and support to participants engaged in Work Experience Training assignments. Trainers help participants develop workplace skills and behaviors while supporting successful participation in real-world work environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training and support during authorized work-experience assignments.

  • Help participants understand assigned job duties, workplace expectations, schedules, policies, and procedures.

  • Model and reinforce appropriate workplace communication, attendance, punctuality, professionalism, task completion, and interpersonal skills.

  • Provide instruction and feedback to strengthen participant performance and independence.

  • Observe participant performance and identify areas requiring additional training or support.

  • Promote natural workplace supports and increasing independence when appropriate.

FLEXIBLE, ASSIGNMENT-BASED OPPORTUNITIES

Most opportunities with 4 The Future Consulting Group are part-time and assignment-based. Assignments may be available throughout the year and can include school-day programming, after-school services, Saturdays, workshops, camps, academies, school-break programming, summer programs, employment services, community-based experiences, virtual instruction, and special events.

Schedules, locations, and available hours vary according to program contracts, school and community partnerships, program enrollment, authorizations, and service needs. Hours and assignments are not guaranteed.
